You (your account name) have reached your message limit / XX emails have been sent yesterday by XXX
The DirectAdmin control panel may send you this message:
This
message was created automatically by mail delivery software. A message
that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients.
This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:
voorbeeld@emailadres.nl You (your account name) have reached your message
limit. You (your account name) have reached your message limit / XX emails have been sent yesterday by XXX
If you get the message above, you have sent more than 300 messages in one day. This counter is reset to zero every night, so you can send email again a day later.
Why?
Spammers regularly manage to spam/send email through the accounts of unsuspecting people. That is why we limit the number of emails per day. If you have a good reason to send more per day, you can contact us and we will raise this limit. So that is no problem at all.
Check whether the emails are legitimate
In DirectAdmin you can check which emails have been sent and whether you actually sent them yourself. To do so, log in to the control panel and go to POP3 / IMAP email accounts. There you will find the option Email Usage. On that screen you can see which emails have been sent.
More or fewer emails per day
If the message says that more than 50 emails have been sent, we have limited your account in the past because spam was sent from it. If you are sure this has been resolved, you can ask us to set the limit back to the standard 300 per day. More is also possible at no extra cost; the limit is primarily meant to prevent unintended spamming.
If you send more emails than allowed, your emails may also be returned with this error message: Unrouteable address / Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender
